BELGRADE - The new winter sports and tourism season in Serbia will kick off with EXPO-ZIM 2014, an international trade fair of winter sports equipment, tourism and recreation, which will be opened by Slovenia's famous alpine skier Jure Kosir on November 27.

The event, taking place at the Belgrade Fair Grounds and running until November 30, is bringing together the biggest local and foreign producers and importers of winter sports gear as well as representatives of ski centers, travel agencies and places offering the most attractive local and foreign winter tourist destinations.

The visitors will be able to buy new or swap used winter sports gear, have it repaired, and they will also be able to pick from a range of attractive places to spend New Year and Christmas holidays, the Belgrade Fair has said in a release.

Kosir, which will open the trade fair, won the bronze medal in the men's slalom event at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, and finished second in giant slalom and third in slalom in the 1994/95 World Cup standings.
