Partial Solar Eclipse – Watch it live!

The National Observatory of Athens said that a partial solar eclipse will be visible in Greece late on Friday morning. People are warned against looking at the Sun without special eye protection, especially children.

The eclipse is to take place from 10.39 a.m. to 12.49 p.m., with its deepest point occurring at 11.43 a.m.

Public Health Secretary General Yiannis Baskozos also warned the public from directly looking at the eclipse without special eyewear because of long-term damage to the eye’s retina that may not be immediately felt. This view is echoed by specialists worldwide.

The Ministry of Education warned schools to keep children indoors from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. so as to esure that their eyes are protected.
