Golden Dawn leader addresses Parliament — wants memoranda gone!

Fresh from his release from 18 months of pre-trial detention the leader of the far-right Golden Dawn party, Nikos Mihaloliakos, on Monday addressed Parliament in an off-the-agenda debate called by the leftist government on the course of negotiations with creditors.

The usually inflammatory Mihaloliakos said an extension of the loan agreement is actually an extension of the memorandum, while adding that the Greek people on Jan. 25 “voted against the memoranda”. He concluded by saying that he hopes SYRIZA will honor its pre-election pledge to cancel the memoranda, “because only then will national sovereignty return”.
