Greek police bust high class drug-pandering ring in Mykonos

The Greek Narcotics Department dismantled a criminal organisation allegedly involved in drug trafficking and pandering on the island of Mykonos. Police arrested two 33 year-old, and one 34 year-old Greek males in an operation carried out in the early hours of Saturday. One of the suspects was a former coast guard and the other had been arrested for a bank robbery in 2011.

According to police investigations, the suspects would operate under the cover of a legitimate tourist services business and exploit their contacts to procure cocaine, unprocessed cannabis and MDMA-a psychoactive drug of the substituted amphetamine class-to their wealthy clientele. Their illicit activities allegedly covered the whole tourist gamut, including night clubs, bars, hotels, tourist lodgings, luxury yacht rentals etc.

The 34-year old suspect was also charged with supplying women to clients. After a police search at their homes they were in possession of 9.4 grams packs of cocaine; 8.7 gram packs of unprocessed cannabis; 0.8 gram packs of MDMA; the amount of 6,740 Euros; electronic precision scales; 5 mobile phone devices, while the authorities confiscated a car and a motorcycle.

Further investigation revealed their involvement in 47 cases of drug trafficking in the past. Police are searching for more possible accomplices. The suspects were taken to the Siros island prosecutor.
