Vucic: Serbia will never be on verge of bankruptcy again

BELGRADE - Serbia will never be on the verge of bankruptcy again, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said Thursday at a meeting with the new IMF Resident Representative in Serbia Sebastian Sosa and outgoing Resident Representative Daehaeng Kim.

"Thanks to the economic measures undertaken and the implemented reforms, Serbia will never be on the verge of bankruptcy again, but on the path of progress. Our goal is to ensure better living standards for all Serbian citizens," a statement from the government press office quoted Vucic as saying.

Welcoming Sosa, Vucic noted that implementation of the IMF programme would be one of the main economic goals of the future government, adding that he expected the successful cooperation with IMF representatives to continue.
