Rama, Vucic engage in heated debate over Trepca

BELGRADE - Thursday's debate between Serbian and Albanian PMs Aleksandar Vucic and Edi Rama at the Belgrade Security Forum was marked by opposing views on Kosovo and the Trepca mining complex.

It would be the best for all if Serbia recognised Kosovo, Rama said, adding that he was very supportive of the dialogue on normalisation between Belgrade and Pristina despite their differing views.

Serbia and Albania disagree on Kosovo, Vucic said.

When asked by Rama what Belgrade intended to do about the Trepca mine and whether it was planning to take it to Belgrade, Vucic responded:

"I dare to say I know a bit more about Trepca than Edi, and I have to say Pristina has made the worst possible move regarding the economy and the development of Trepca," Vucic said.
