Mihajlovic, Bologa: Population policy a priority

BELGRADE - Improving Serbia's population policy is a priority for the period to come, and a serious analysis needs to be conducted as regards demographic trends in society, Zorana Mihajlovic, head of the Serbian Coordination Body for Gender Equality, and Doina Bologa, regional director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), agreed on Friday.

"The demographic problem has existed for a long time, but the previous governments swept it under the rug. We have set up a body to address this issue and UNFPA support in terms of providing expertise and information is of great significance for us," Mihajlovic told Bologa.
