Hockey: Slovenia relegated at World Championship

Žiga Jeglič and David Rodman scored the only goals for Slovenia in the first third.

Nik Zupančič, Slovenia's head coach, said after the game that the first third was okay, but that everything came crumbling down in the second: "Four goals are too much at this level of competition."

Players Jan Muršak, Jan Urbas and Rodman agreed that the team had collapsed in the second third. Muršak added that "apparently we're just not good enough for the top competition...You cannot play at this level and concede five goals".

Slovenia also lost to Canada, Norway, Finland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, scoring the only point at the championships against the latter after going down in overtime.

The Slovenian side still have one match to play on Monday, against France.
