Serbian Embassy Staff Withdrawn From Skopje

Media reports and (FYROM) Macedonian officials say the entire staff of the Serbian Embassy in Macedonia's capital, Skopje, has been withdrawn for urgent consultations in Belgrade.

The Macedonian Foreign Ministry said late on August 20 that it had received a note from the Serbian Embassy informing Macedonian authorities that the staff had been asked to travel to Belgrade for consultations.

Serbian officials have not commented.

The Macedonian Foreign Ministry said it "is not aware of the reasons for this decision and is therefore establishing communication with the Foreign Ministry of Serbia."
