Turkish convicts on loose after escaping Halkidiki jail

Two Turkish nationals serving life sentences who escaped from a prison in Kasandra, Halkidiki, in northern Greece, on Thursday remain at large, police said on Monday.

The two men, 24 and 33, were convicted for trafficking refugees.

According to reports, they were in the prison vegetable garden when they slipped away.

Their escape became apparent to prison authorities during a roll call later in the day.
