Another beach made available after cleanup

A man sits in the sun at Freattyda beach on Thursday, close to Piraeus port, as Deputy Shipping Minister Nektarios Santorinios and Piraeus Mayor Yiannis Moralis inspect the wider area after it was cleaned up by a private company and made available to the public. The beach had been severely polluted, as were long stretches of the capital's southern coastline, by an oil slick caused by the sinking of a small tanker more than a month ago off the island of Salamina in the Saronic Gulf.
