Hague Tribunal sentences Ratko Mladic to life in prison

The Hague Tribunal (ICTY) is on Wednesday sentenced former wartime commander of the Army of the Serb Republic (VRS) Ratko Mladic to life in prison.

Mladic stood accused of genocide against some 7,000 Muslims (Bosniaks) from Srebrenica, persecution of Muslims and Croats across Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH), violations of the laws and customs of war, and taking UN peacekeepers hostage.
