InMute | Athens | November 23-25

The InMute festival explores the uncharted territory between film and sound effects with a combination of screenings and live music performances. On Thursday, November 23, the French Institute (31 Sina, Kolonaki) hosts a performance by composer and producer Constantine with design-for-survival lab Embassy for the Displaced, starting at 9 p.m. It will be followed by the audiovisual project "Yamayaki [Terre Brulee]," a collaboration between INA-GRM art director Kassel Jaeger and director Eleonore Huisse, inspired by the customary scorching of a field in the Japanese countryside. On Friday, the festival moves to the Television Control Center (91A Kyprou & Sikinou, Kypseli), where at 9 p.m., Greek drummer Yorgos Dimitriadis will perform to a visual presentation by Erato Tzavara, followed at 10 p.m. by British live cinema pioneer Greg Pope in "Scarface," a 16mm film with live sound...
