A "Twitter war" took place this week between the Russian embassy in Canada and the US House Foreign Affairs Committee Democrats.

A "Twitter war" took place this week between the Russian embassy in Canada and the US House Foreign Affairs Committee Democrats.

And the reason was Kosovo, RTS is reporting, citing media in Pristina.

The Russian embassy first tweeted, referring to Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and his recent visit to Canada - "and his anti-Russian comments to Canadian media" - that they would "like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that #KosovoisSerbia #KosovoJeSrbija."

To this, the the US House Foreign Affairs Committee Democrats replied, "We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that #Kosovo is independent and #Crimea is #Ukraine."
