Vujovic: Serbia to achieve Maastricht criteria by 2020

BELGRADE - Serbia will by 2020 achieve the Maastricht criteria under which public debt must not exceed 60 pct of GDP, Serbian Minister of Economy Dusan Vujovic said Friday, outlining the 2018-2020 Economic Reform Programme.

"The goal of the programme is to maintain fiscal stability, intensify structural reforms and reduce public debt. The deficit is expected to stabilise at 0.5 pct of GDP over the medium term, whereby public finances would fully return to a sustainable path, while public debt would be reduced to 56.3 pct of GDP," Vujovic said at a joint session of the parliamentary committees on finance and European integration.
