Abe: Serbia key to stability in Western Balkans

BELGRADE - Serbia is crucial for stability in the Western Balkans, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe said in Belgrade Monday, announcing that his country would actively assist the European integration of Serbia and the region.

Speaking at a press conference after a conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Abe said the meeting marked a new beginning for the friendship between the two countries and that Japanese-Serbian relations would be greatly strengthened in political, economic, cultural and other spheres.
