Serbia lose to Brazil, exit World Cup

The Serbian national football squad has ended its participation in the World Cup by losing 0-2 to Brazil late on Wednesday.

Serbia finished third in the group with three points, while Brazil tops it with 7.

In the second game on Wednesday, Costa Rica and Switzerland drew 2-2 - Switzerland now has 5 points, while Costa Rica has one.

In the knock-out phase, Switzerland will play against Sweden, while Brazil will play against Mexico.

Reigning champions Germany were on Wednesday eliminated from further competition. Those who have so far qualified for the round of 16 include Uruguay, Russia, Spain, Portugal, France, Denmark, Croatia, Argentina, Brazil, Switzerland, Sweden, Mexico, and England and Belgium, although they are yet to play their last group matches.

The final game of the world's most important sporting competition will be played in Moscow on July 19.
