AGERPRES presents in Prague "Romania: Evolution" photo exhibition and "Greater Union - Romania at 100" documentary

The "Romania: Evolution" photo exhibition and the video documentary called the "Greater Union - Romania at 100" were presented on Sunday by the AGERPRES National News Agency in Prague, on the occasion of celebrating the Feast of Romanians in the Czech Republic.

The 9th edition of the event, which was held on the Terrace of the Ethnographic Museum - Musaion of the Kinsky Garden was organised by the Association of Romanians of the Czech Republic and the Moldovan Community of the Czech Republic, under the patronage of Prague Municipal District 5 (Prague 5) City Hall, the Embassy of Romania to the Czech Republic and the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the Czech Republic.

The exhibition was appreciated by over 9,000 attendees and the audience had the opportunity to receive the photo album put together by the AGERPRES National News Agency, a special edition for the Greater Union Centennial, which includes 100 images of Romania, grouped in three chapters: Archive, Revolution, Evolution.

"I congratulate AGERPRES for the initiative, because I found, both the exhibition and the film, exceptional in terms of quality, underscoring the essence of the transformations which Romania has undergone over the past one hundred yeas," Director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Prague Ionut Munteanu stated within the event.

Also attending the event, next to the hundreds of Romanian and Czech visitors, were Romania's Ambassador to the Czech Republic Carmen Liliana Burlacu, First Secretary with the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Czech Republic Nicolae Popa, Honorary President of the Romanian Association of the Czech Republic Nicolae Dedulea, President of the World Folklore Union IGF Professor Dorel Cosma, deputy Mayor of Prague 5 City Hall Petr Lachnit, President of the Czech Folklore Associations.

Also participating in the event were folk ensembles called "Cununita" and "Cununita Nazdravana" of Satu Mare, singers from the Republic of Moldova, the "Kodrjanka" ensemble of Prague.

The documentary "Greater Union - Romania at 100" is an invitation to an emotional and captivating journey, experienced, not just narrated, by people for whom Romania is also a collection of important historic moments in the birth of this state. As a matter of fact, AGERPRES followed the traces of the makers of the Union: in Basarabia, Northern Bucovina and Transylvania, with the descendants of those who helped the reunification of the country open up the backstages of the most important historical moment. Through the voice of those who narrate, we discover that we are a nation without borders. Romania, at 100, brings about a history that continues to be written, reads the release.

The photography exhibition "Romania: Evolution" includes images that are part of the AGERPRES archive that reflects the cultural, artistic, political and sports life of the country, as well as some photos from the Associated Press archive. Included are the best photographs recently taken by AGERPRES photographers illustrating the evolution of Romania. AGERPRES has also produced a similarly named album, a special edition for the Greater Union Centennial that contains 100 pictures from Romania, grouped in three chapters: Archives, Revolution, Evolution.
