Governments have created "worldwide momentum" to slow climate change despite threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to pull out of the 2015 Paris Agreement to slash greenhouse gas emissions, the U.N.'s climate chief said on March 31.

Veteran actor Halit Akçatepe dies aged 79

Veteran Turkish actor Halit Akçatepe, who had been under treatment after suffering a stroke last year, died on March 31 in Istanbul. He was 79.

Born in 1938, Akçatepe made his debut in the film "Dertli Pınar" at the age of five in 1943 and appeared in many other films as a child artist.

HDP to talk to gov't on  co-chair's hunger strike

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder has said his fellow deputy Pervin Buldan and himself will meet Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ on April 3 to convey their concerns over their co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who has launched a hunger strike.
