'Coin thief' puzzles locals in Turkey's east
A burglar who broke into a supermarket and stole only coins has puzzled some locals in the eastern province of Sivas, who wondered why he did not even touch the banknotes and valuable items around.
Illegal structures on Fırtına Valley riverbed to be demolished, ministry says
The Turkish Environment and Urbanization Ministry has determined that nine illegal structures on the riverbed of Fırtına (storm in English) Valley in the Black Sea province of Rize will be demolished.
More than 70 homes declared unsafe on quake-hit Zakynthos
More than 70 homes have so far been declared unfit to occupy on the Ionian island of Zakynthos following a powerful earthquake last week.
State engineers had until Tuesday inspected 148 buildings, including schools, hospitals and public libraries.
Two school buildings require minor repairs, authorities said.
Inspections will continue through the week.
