Curcic picks Serbia-based players for Japan friendly

Slim majority for condemnation of crime

EU credit of EUR 200 millions also at risk because of auditors’ pays
Serbia might lose a credit of EUR 200 millions from the EU if the State auditing institution (DRI) fails to carry out financial check of at least three public enterprises. Perhaps the last deadline expires tomorrow since if changes of the law on DRI are not on agenda of Serbian Parliament as per emergency procedure, there shall probably be no time for auditing of the public enterprises and consequently no money from the EU.
Political analyst Ivan Vejvoda told daily Politika that in being able to write a joint Kosovo resolution with the EU, Serbia has gained an important ally.
He said that Serbia has gained an important ally in a time when it would be getting ready to hold talks with the Kosovo Albanian leadership.

Mufti Muamer Zukorlić expects an invitation to talks from the Serbia top state officials regarding issues leading to growing tensions in Novi Pazar.
However, Human and Minority Rights Minister Svetozar Čiplić says that he is open for a dialogue but that he believes that the mufti would not show up for the meeting.

Construction workers go on warning strike
Representatives of three construction workers unions staged a one-hour warning strike Wednesday.

New York imam says Islamic center will proceed
The U.S. imam leading plans for an Islamic center near the site of the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York says the project will continue.
In an opinion piece published in Wednesday's New York Times newspaper, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf said the debate about the center reflects American values, including "recognition of the rights of others, tolerance and freedom of worship."

More than 720,000 unemployed in Serbia
According to the National Employment Service, there are over 720,000 unemployed persons in Serbian currently.
The largest number of these unemployed persons is made up of people under the age of 30, in between the ages of 45 and 55, people with disabilities, women and the Roma minority.
