Greece has mountain to climb to reach Euro 2020 finals

Greece will need to revert to glorious performances of the past if it is to harbor any hopes of making Euro 2020, as the draw for its qualifying group on Sunday has placed it against Italy, Bosnia and Finland among others.

France Stunned by Bulgaria in Basketball World Cup Qualifier

France suffered a shock loss to Bulgaria in FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying on Thursday, while Germany stayed perfect.

Convicted Croatian Football Boss Arrested in Bosnia

Former Croatian football club boss Zdravko Mamic, who has been convicted of financial crimes, was arrested on Thursday in Medjugorje.

State Investigation and Protection Agency police detained Mamic on the basis of an Interpol warrant. He will be handed over to the Bosnian state court.

Bulgaria's National Football Team will Face its First Test for 2018

Red Star Belgrade Face Punishment for Anti-Muslim Banner

Euroleague Basketball, which runs the Euroleague competition, said on Tuesday that it has launched disciplinary proceedings against the Red Star Belgrade basketball club after the racist banner was raised by some fans at a match against Olympiakos of Greece last Friday in the Serbian capital.

The fans' banner carried the message: "Albanians, Croats and Muslims are not my brothers."

Bosnian Football Pins Hopes on New Coach Prosinecki

Robert Prosinecki, a Croatian football manager and former football midfielder who last worked as manager of Azerbaijan, is  Bosnia's new national football coach, it was announced on Thursday.

Journalist Haris Mrkonja wrote for N1 that while popes were often selected in less than a week, it took Bosnia more than three months to appoint a national football coach.
