Turkey-US relations under the weight of Gülen

There was an unpleasant surprise waiting for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Washington before he stepped into the White House to meet U.S. President Donald Trump. The Washington Post, one of the U.S.'s most prestigious newspapers, had published an op-ed by guest writer Fethullah Gülen titled, "The Turkey I no longer know." 

Trump will do what Obama failed to do about Gülen: Erdoğan

U.S. President Donald Trump will do what former President Barack Obama failed to do regarding the U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, accused of masterminding the July 2016 failed coup attempt, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said April 20.  

"I believe Trump will do what Obama failed to do in this regard," Erdoğan said in an interview with private broadcaster A News.

Crowd throws eggs, nooses at Erdoğan assassination attempt case suspects outside court in Turkey's south 

A group outside the courthouse in the southwestern province of Muğla threw eggs and nooses at suspects arriving for a hearing in the case into the assassination attempt against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the July 2016 coup attempt. 

President Erdoğan says he is disillusioned by US policy

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said that he was "disillusioned" by the policies of the United States, as he also commented on the extradition process of the U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen.

In an interview to be broadcast by U.S. political TV show 60 Minutes, President Erdoğan talked about last week's U.S. presidential election.
