Turkey's LPG imports up 24.03 pct in March

Turkey's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports increased by 24.03 percent to 257,764 tonnes in March compared to the same month of 2020, according to the latest data from the country's energy watchdog.

The Energy Market Regulatory Authority's (EMRA) data showed that Turkey's imports came from the U.S., Algeria, Kazakhstan, Russia, the Bahama Islands and Norway.

Turkey's LPG imports down 21.07 pct in January

Turkey's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports decreased by 21.07 percent to 207,225 tonnes in January compared to the same month of 2020, according to the latest data from the country's energy watchdog.

The Energy Market Regulatory Authority's (EMRA) data showed that Turkey's imports came from Algeria, the U.S., Kazakhstan, Norway, the Bahama Islands and Russia.

Industrial gas being sold widely as motor fuel

Fuel market professionals speak of major smuggling phenomena in the Greek autogas market, estimated to cost the public coffers more than 40 million euros per annum.

They point to the extensive sale of gas destined for industrial use - which is both lower in quality and taxed at a lower rate - being sold at fuel stations as autogas.

Koç unit bids in power plant tender

Turkish LPG distribution company Aygaz said on Sept. 12 its Entek Elektrik Üretim unit, jointly owned with parent Koc Holding, has bid in a tender to operate two hydroelectric power stations.

A previous privatization tender in 2016 for the two power plants, Menzelet and Kılavuzlu, had been canceled, Aygaz said in a statement to the Istanbul stock exchange.
