Change of attitude leads to rise in breastfeeding

Greek women are increasingly choosing to breastfeed their newborn babies after years of relying on formula, according to a report conducted by the Children's Health Institute in 2017.

Based on the data, seven in 10 women last year breastfed their infants for the first few months, reversing a four-to-10 ratio recorded in a similar report in 2007.

The 6th Panhellenic Synchronized Public Breastfeeding festival takes place in over 50 cities of Greece on Sunday, November 1. The event kicks off a week of celebration aimed at raising breastfeeding awareness and marks the start of World Breast Feeding Week (November 1-7).

Bulgarian Breastfeeding Mother Sues Mall on Discrimination Charges

The Bulgarian Helsinki Committee will represent Denitsa Panayotova in a lawsuit in defense of the right of women to breastfeed in public places.

The lawsuit has been issued against a mall in Bulgaria's capital Sofia and in particular against the store, whose security guard asked the woman to stop breastfeeding her child.
