Change of attitude leads to rise in breastfeeding
Greek women are increasingly choosing to breastfeed their newborn babies after years of relying on formula, according to a report conducted by the Children's Health Institute in 2017.
Based on the data, seven in 10 women last year breastfed their infants for the first few months, reversing a four-to-10 ratio recorded in a similar report in 2007.

Thousands of mothers breastfeed in Athens to raise awareness (photos)
Thousands of mothers from all over Athens gathered at Syntagma Square on Sunday, November 5 to send a positive message about breastfeeding. Their goal was to raise awareness and encourage mothers to prefer the natural way of feeding their children and avoid formulas.
Ministry introduces measure to boost breastfeeding
In a bid to boost the practice of breastfeeding, the Health Ministry is introducing a measure whereby new mothers will have to sign a release form allowing their infants to be bottle-fed at maternity clinics.

Bulgarian Breastfeeding Mother Sues Mall on Discrimination Charges
The Bulgarian Helsinki Committee will represent Denitsa Panayotova in a lawsuit in defense of the right of women to breastfeed in public places.
The lawsuit has been issued against a mall in Bulgaria's capital Sofia and in particular against the store, whose security guard asked the woman to stop breastfeeding her child.
