Wes Anderson says lockdown helped inspire ‘Asteroid City’

Wes Anderson's new film puts Westerns, theatre, 1950s Americana and an alien into a blender for another of his atypical and star-packed concoctions that he says is about "reckoning with forces beyond your control".

As always, "Asteroid City," which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 23, features a roster of actors that reads like a Hollywood phonebook.  

‘Great Expectations’ serves up another grim revision

After a bleak reimagining of "A Christmas Carol" in 2019, Steven Knight is back to give another Charles Dickens tale, "Great Expectations," similar treatment, with equally grim results. While the underlying story is better suited to such tinkering, even Olivia Colman's toothy performance can't salvage this six-part production, meaning viewers should set their expectations accordingly.

James Gunn to direct ‘Superman: Legacy,’ aiming for 2025

James Gunn is directing a Superman film. "Superman: Legacy," which Gunn also wrote, is also set for a July 11, 2025, he and his co-chair and fellow CEO of DC Studios Peter Safran announced on March 15.

The film, Gunn said, deals with the superhero's journey to make sense of both his aristocratic Kryptonian heritage and his small town, midwestern upbringing as Clark Kent.

Bond star Daniel Craig receives same medal as 007

James Bond actor Daniel Craig on Oct. 18 received the same honor held by his fictional character, as he is set to retire from the role.

The 54-year-old British actor who played Bond for the fifth and final time in 2021 film "No Time To Die," was made a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George, a rare honor that author Ian Fleming bestowed on his fictional agent.
