Coast Guard locates €2 million worth of cocaine

A lorry driver was arrested at the northwestern Greek port of Igoumenitsa after coast guard authorities seized more than 2 million euro worth of narcotics from his vehicle. 

According to the coast guard, a sniffer dog detected a concealed compartment containing 54 packages of cocaine weighing a total of 59 kg. 

Turkish authorities seize third largest cocaine haul

Turkish police have seized the third largest haul of cocaine in the country's history, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on April 11 amid tightening crackdowns on organized crime rings.

Some 608 kilograms of cocaine, most of it in liquid form, were confiscated in an operation across three provinces, Yerlikaya posted on the social media platform X.

Apartment raid finds drug lacing lab, firearms

Police on Wednesday found an illegal drug lacing lab as well as multiple firearms in a central Athens apartment in connection with the arrest of a 65-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman.

The pair were arrested on the basis of intelligence on the Attica drug trade, specifically cocaine, heroin, and cannabis oil.

Cocaine worth €2.8 mln hidden in banana containers seized at Piraeus port

Dozens of packages of cocaine were confiscated on Wednesday by Greek authorities at the port of Piraeus inside banana containers shipped from Ecuador.

Customs inspectors undertook an x-ray examination of a suspicious cargo container of bananas revealing organic material in the refrigeration units.
