BELGRADE - Red Star Belgrade have taken a 1-0 lead in the ABA basketball league semi-finals after beating Buducnost Podgorica 82-67 (21-17, 22-14, 19-18, 20-18) late Sunday.

Head coach Dejan Radonjic's men controlled the game throughout and had a 20-point lead at one point.

NIS - Red Star Belgrade comprehensively defeated Vrsac 99-47 (30-7, 27-10, 24-15, 18-15) in Nis Thursday to advance to the basketball Korac Cup semi-finals.

In a bid to reach the final of the national cup, head coach Dejan Radonjic's men will face FMP Zeleznik, who beat Spartak Subotica 77-58 earlier in the day.

BELGRADE - American basketball player Deon Thompson arrived in Belgrade on Monday as Red Star's latest signing, immediately making himself available to head coach Dejan Radonjic.

The power forward/center, who joined the regional and Serbian champions from Galatasaray, has signed a contract until the end of the season.
