Parliament passes bill on coastal exploitation rules
A bill relaxing the rules of coastal exploitation was passed in Parliament on Thursday with 158 votes from the government majority in the 300-seat House, with all eight opposition parties voting against it.
Canoeists die off Crete
The bodies of two canoeists who went missing on Sunday were found on Monday in a sea area off Hora Sfakion, on the island of Crete.
The coast guard said the bodies of the two men, aged 44 and 50, were found by someone on a private boat in the sea 10 nautical miles north of Gavdos. They were retrieved by a coast guard lifeboat and transported to the port of Hora Sfakion.

As can be seen in the video of the Instagram page "moj_beo_grad_", the suspension bridge leading to the night club completely sank, and the guests swam in an attempt to save themselves.
Elderly at greater risk of drowning, experts warn
Drownings at sea remain quite common despite authorities' repeated warnings and guidelines. By July 20, 125 people had drowned at sea in Greece this year, official statistics show.
Of the 125, just two were minors, 18 aged 18-59 and 105 aged 60 and over. Old people have always been most likely to drown. In 2022, 386 people drowned, seven of them in swimming pools.

Hospital announces death of 12-year-old found unconscious while swimming
A 12-year-old boy that was pulled out of the water after he was found unconscious on Sunday on the island of Crete died on Thursday. The boy had been intubated at the PAGNI Hospital intensive care unit in Iraklio.
Zakynthos police investigate Irish tourist’s death
Police on the Ionian island of Zakynthos are investigating the circumstances that led to the death of a 20-year-old Irish tourist after he fell into a pool at a club.
The man is understood to have lost consciousness after falling into the pool at the well-known venue.

All Beaches in Bulgaria Open for Tourists
All beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast are officially open to tourists as of June 1.
The largest southern tourist resort in Bulgaria, Sunny Beach, also started the season today.
There are mainly Bulgarians and Romanian tourists in the resort, who started coming to Bulgaria after the requirement for presenting negative PCR test result upon nerty to the country was lifted.

Shock over drownings of three young holidaymakers
Tragedy struck the islands of Crete and Rhodes on Wednesday afternoon after an 8-year-old girl from Israel and two French sisters aged 16 and 19 drowned in separate incidents.
The Israeli girl drowned in the swimming pool of the hotel she was staying at with her family at the resort of Hersonissos on Crete.
