Sofia Amongst Top-Regions With Highest Share Of Brain Business Jobs
- In Sofia fully 12.4 percent of adults are employed in brain business jobs. This is amongst the highest shares in all of Europe.
- In the average European region 5.8 percent of adults work in brain business jobs. The share of knowledge-intensive workers in Sofia is 114% higher than the average European region.
UK economy grows in second quarter
Britain's economy expanded slightly over the second quarter thanks to strong output in June and despite inflation remaining high, official data showed on Aug. 11.
Gross domestic product grew 0.2 percent in the April-June period after output expanded 0.1 percent in the first quarter, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement.

Türkiye’s imports, exports decreased in June: Official data
Türkiye's exports were $20.9 billion in June with a 10.5 percent decrease and imports were $26.6 billion with a 17.5 percent decrease compared with June 2022, official data has showed on July 28.
Automotive exports top $3 billion in June
The Turkish automotive industry's exports grew by 9 percent year-on-year in June to more than $3 billion, according to the Automotive Industry Exporters' Association (OİB).
For a third time this year, monthly exports were above the $3 billion mark, said Baran Çelik, the board chair of OİB.

Large enterprises that employ up to 250 people accounted for 41.6 percent of exports, while their share in imports was 61.4 percent in 2021, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

Number of salaried employees rose in June
Some 13.7 million people were employed in salaried jobs in the industry, construction and trade services sectors in June, up 6.3 percent from a year ago, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has reported.

Industrial production continues to grow
Türkiye's industrial production increased by 9.1 percent in May from a year ago, after rising 10.8 percent in the previous month, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) showed yesterday.
On a seasonally and calendar adjusted basis, the country's industrial output rose 0.5 percent in the month from April, TÜİK said.

Automotive exports hit $2.8 billion in June
The automotive sector's exports increased by 17.9 percent on an annual basis to $2.8 billion in June, according to data from the business group.
The industry, which has been the leader in exports among all sectors over the past 16 years, captured an 11.8 percent share in the country's total exports last month.

Turkey's machinery exports reach $9.2 bln in 5 months
Turkey's machinery exports reached $9.2 billion in the first five months of this year, according to figures released by a sector association on June 13.
The sector's exports increased by 37 percent year-on-year in the January-May period, and 12 percent versus the same period in 2019, the Machinery Exporters' Association said in a press release.
