PM to meet with EU representative after controversy

BELGRADE -- Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will on Tuesday meet with EU Delegation head Michael Davenport, it has been announced by the Serbian government.

The meeting comes after Vucic accused the EU of financing media to publish articles against his cabinet.

Serbia Remains on EU Path, PM Insists

Prime Minister Vucic said on Monday that Serbia was still on its way towards membership of the EU despite press speculation about whether he could maintain good relations with Brussels after he accused the EU of helping to spread lies to destabilise his administration.

Vucic said however that Belgrade also has an "independent policy, created with no influence from any other source".

Vucic on Saturday slammed European Commission criticism of his allegations that BIRN is being funded by Brussels to spread lies to destablise his administration.

The Serbian premier accused Maja Kocijancic, spokesperson for the European Commission for neighbourhood policy and enlargement negotiations, of trying to muzzle him.

Vucic expects Serbian president to back OSCE presidency

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stated on Wednesday that he expects Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic to provide considerable support to Serbia's OSCE presidency.

"I expect everyone to engage in this major task and help Serbia improve its reputation during the OSCE presidency," Vucic told the Belgrade-based Television Pink.
