Frattini: Vucic fights for future of Serbian people

BELGRADE - Serbian government's special adviser and Italy's former foreign minister Franco Frattini said in Belgrade on Tuesday Serbia's EU integration would be completed once it becomes a full member of the EU, adding that Serbia's key priorities for the coming period were to overcome the economic crisis, that is provide jobs for most of the people and combat the gray economy.

Frattini spoke at a Serbian Progressive Party rally in Belgrade and said he was a friend of Serbia and wished to support the strategic vision that Aleksandar Vucic was proposing for Serbia.

The first item in his vision is that Serbia is a part of Europe and that Europe is Serbia, which will benefit all the people in Serbia, Frattini remarked, adding that he believed the Serbian people would also accept this as their vision.

Serbia needs reforms in many areas, the economy, judiciary, security and in the battle against corruption, he stressed.

The battle against unemployment and poverty is also part of the strategic vision for Serbia, and it is needed for the future of the country and generations to come, he said.

He underscored the need to form the government quickly after the election and added that he was convinced Vucic would be the next prime minister.
