Japan's donation to architecture and art students

BELGRADE - The Embassy of Japan donated books, handbooks and other publications, mostly related to Japanese architecture, but to other fields of study as well, to the Belgrade Faculty of Architecture on Thursday.

The donation was presented by third secretary of the Japanese Embassy Yuichiro Omori, who noted that this is the Embassy's second donation of architectural textbooks and publications to the Faculty.

Omori pointed out that there is great interest across Serbia in the study of the Japanese language, as well as in the culture and life of the Japanese people.

At the Belgrade Faculty of Philology alone, around 300 students study Japanese.

Thanking for the donation, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Vladan Djokic underlined that the books, which will be kept at the faculty library, will be available to all students who want to learn more about Japan.

The Embassy of Japan announced that a set of books will also be donated on Thursday to the Belgrade-based University of Arts, which comprises four faculties.
