Mevlud Dudic becomes head of Islamic Community in Serbia

NOVI PAZAR - Mevlud Dudic has been inaugurated as the new leader of the Islamic Community in Serbia, replacing Muamer Zukorlic.

Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community in Bosnia-Herzegovina Husein Kavazovic presented Dudic with the document that inaugurated him.

Kavazovic hopes the change at the head of the Islamic Community in Serbia will help achieve unity among the Muslims in Serbia and wants the leaders of the Party of Democratic Action and Social Democratic Party, Sulejman Ugljanin and Rasim Ljajic, to also contribute to that.

According to the statute of the Islamic Community in Serbia, the head of the organization is the chief mufti, while former leader Muamer Zukorlic will be the mufti of Sandzak from now on.

Before this position, Dudic was the rector of the International University, which was founded by Zukorlic. He was elected to lead the Islamic Community in Serbia on January 4.

There is another Islamic organization in Serbia besides the one led by Dudic. It is called the Islamic Community of Serbia and is led by Adem Zilkic.
