Prime minister meets Sardinian delegation

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic stated on Wednesday that the government of Serbia advocates for dignified marking of the World War I centennial and accurate representation of historical facts.

Conferring with members of the delegation of Sardinia and representatives of the University of Sassari and the municipality of Stintino, Dacic stressed that the government supports joint activities of the University of Sassari and the Belgrade University on the marking of 100 years of the outbreak of World War I and on establishing historical facts regarding the 3,600 Serbian soldiers and civilians who were shipped to Sardinia for medical treatment, including the 1,600 who passed away.

The possibilities of economic cooperation between Serbia and Sardinia, primarily in the sector of organic food production, were also discussed at the meeting, released the government's media office.
