Screening on freedom to provide services begins in Brussels

BRUSSELS - A bilateral screening on Chapter 3 began in Brussels on Wednesday morning, addressing the freedom to provide services within the common market.

A Serbian delegation is being led by Serbia's chief negotiator Tanja Miscevic and State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade Tanja Matic.

The screening, which is the process aimed at harmonizing the laws and principles of candidate countries with EU standards, is a necessary part of preparations for opening each and every one of the total of 35 chapters.

The explanatory screening, during which the Serbian team presented to officials of the European Commission (EC) Serbia's regulations in relation to Chapter 3, was completed last month, while during the bilateral screening EC experts speak about European standards.
It has been envisaged that this round of screening will end on Thursday.
