Serbia's public debt at EUR 20.22 billion

BELGRADE - The total public debt of Serbia reached EUR 20.22 billion at the end of January, accounting for 62.3 percent of the gross domestic product, the Ministry of Finance released on its website.

Direct and indirect liabilities amount to EUR 17.44 billion and EUR 2.79 billion respectively. The share of external debt in direct liabilities totals EUR 10.37 billion, while the internal debt is EUR 7.06 billion. As for indirect liabilities, the value of external debt is EUR 1.98 billion, and the internal debt stands at EUR 803.4 million.

Serbia's total public debt has increased by EUR 136 million against December 31, 2013, and by EUR 6.06 billion compared to December 31, 2000.
