Vandals demolish and steal Serb hero's bust

PODGORICA - Unidentified vandals again demolished and stole the bust of Novak Milosev Vujadinovica in Orljevo, near Podgorica, which was put up by the Serb National Council in Montenegro.

The Serb Nation Council set up a new bust a year ago, after the previous one was also pulled down and stolen.

Momcilo Vuksanovic, president of the Serb National Council in Montenegro, said that the stealing of the bust is yet another attack on the Serb national identity and Serb symbols in Montenegro, the Council released in a statement.

“The demolition and stealing of the bust of Novak Milosev Vujadinovica is a continuation of the negative treatment of everything that has been achieved by the Serb National Council that is the preservation of the Serb national identity in Montenegro,” he said.

Vuksanovic announced that the organization will reinstall the monument to the Serb hero who gained fame in the Battle of Fundina in 1878.
