Vucic: Serbia will be good place for investments

BELGRADE - Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia's outgoing first deputy prime minister, visited the U.S. company NCR Corporation, and announced on the occasion that this company will employ 2,000 people by the end of the year.

Vucic thanked U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Michael Kirby and representatives of the company, which currently has 900 employees in Serbia, for opening a NRC regional centre in Belgrade.

The Serbian government is ready to assist all foreign companies operating in Serbia through employment and tax incentives, Vucic said during the visit to NCR Corporation on Monday.

Vucic said that Serbia will be a good place for investments, adding that a market-oriented reform of the educational system will be carried out.

Peter Dorsman, NCR Corporation executive vice president, thanked the Serbian government for its commitment to the company's operation which was launched in 2011.

We have employed very talented staff in Serbia. Our employees speak several languages, have high education and many of them have great technical and management skills, he said.

The strong partnership we established with the Serbian government and the support we received from it made it possible for us to set up a progressive center for business coordination in Belgrade which will employ 2,000 people by the end of the year, Dorsman underlined.

He said that the Belgrade-based center is in charge of 50,000 ATMs, 45,000 network systems, over 20,000 servers and desktop computers across Europe and North America, and it is based on a concept which enables NCR Corporation to process about 485 million user requests worldwide.
