Year-on-year inflation has dropped to 2.6 percent

BELGRADE - February saw a 0.1 percent rise in consumer prices in comparison to the previous month, while the year-on-year inflation signaled that it will remain within the target band (4+/-1.5 percent) and dropped to 2.6 percent in February, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor's office has stated, referring to the data by the Serbian Statistical Office.

The seasonal rise in fruit prices made the only significant contribution to the inflation in February, while most of other components of inflation were around zero.

The NBS expects that in the coming months the inflation in Serbia will remain within the target band, with some volatility due to the last year's base.
