Vucic:Solidarity tax to remain in place even after elections

LAZAREVAC - Serbia's First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday that the solidarity tax will remain in place for all those working in the public sector.

I do not want to make any promises and say that the tax will be abolished straight after the (early parliamentary) elections, Vucic told reporters while touring the Kolubara mining basin.

Serbia needs a recovery and reduction in the fiscal deficit, and only those who know nothing about public finances, which had been eroded for decades, can say such a thing, he added.

Vucic called for support, pointing out that the government wants to have a solid state and economy.

We would like people to feel these changes as soon as in late 2014, or early 2015, Vucic said.
