"Croatia and Franjo Tuđman wanted war"

THE HAGUE -- Advisor to the Serbian legal team in the genocide dispute with Croatia Wayne Jordash believes the Serbian counter-lawsuit is "more convincing" than Croatia's.

He told the newspaper Danas that evidence suggests that Croatia and its then President Franjo Tudjman "wanted war."

The newspaper quoted him as saying that since he believed Serbian counter-lawsuit to have more merit. he thought that if the court finds that genocide was committed in Croatia, the ruling would be "in favor of Serbia, rather than Croatia."

The British lawyer who represented Jovica Snanišić before the ICTY also said that the dispute between Serbia and Croatia was "a very complex, multi-faceted issue."

He added that Croatia presented its claim well, but thinks that Serbia was more convincing with its evidence, and complaint.

"All the evidence that I saw in this case, but also from the case of Jovica Stanišić, the former head of the Serbian State Security, whom I represented in proceedings before the ICTY, suggest that Croatia and Franjo Tudjman wanted war," said Jordash.

He also stated that Serbia "had no trouble finding witnesses to support its counter-suit," recalling that over 200,000 people were driven out of Croatia, "so there are plenty of witnesses."
