East Crete to get a Radisson Blu

The growth in Greek tourism is attracting a succession of major international hotel chains to this country. The latest to take an active interest in Greece is Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, which has signed a franchise deal with the owners of the Minos Imperial Beach Resort and Spa in Milatos in Lasithi, eastern Crete.

From the second quarter of 2016 it will start operating under the name Radisson Blu Beach Resort. The Cretan hotel will be the group’s second to operate in Greece after the Radisson Blu Park in Athens, on Alexandras Avenue.

Yorgos Geniatakis, a member of the family that owns Minos Imperial, told Kathimerini that the hotel will undergo a complete overhaul, amounting to 8.5 million euros.

Rezidor Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Wolfgang M. Neumann also expressed his excitement about the entry of the chain in the Cretan market and the future cooperation with the Geniatakis family.
