Kostunica: Changes in state policy necessary

UZICE – The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) will compete in the early parliamentary elections on March 16 with a new state policy crucial for Serbia’s future, party leader Vojislav Kostunica has said.

“Without changing the state policy there is no life for Serbia. The outgoing government only took care of the interests of the European Union, and forgot about Serbia and its interests. They were just talking about European integration, without a word about the situation in the country, its economy, agriculture, industry, and how it was developing,” Kostunica said at a DSS campaign rally in Uzice, western Serbia, late on Sunday.

Kostunica said that the DSS offers a 2014-2019 Serbia development program dubbed ‘The economy of political neutrality’. The program is responsible, realistic and attainable, he added.
“The program provides the way for Serbia to put itself in order, rise and starts its own life, instead of living under orders from Brussels. Political neutrality is freedom to Serbia and it is the road we follow,” said Kostunica.

he DSS leader warned that the EU is a threat to the statehood, territory and economy of Serbia.

“How small should Serbia be so it is not big by Brussels’ standards?” the DSS leader asked and presented data that call into question the very future of the European Union.

“In the EU member states the unemployment rate is over 26 percent, and among young people it is 55 percent. As many as 120 million people in the EU live on the verge of poverty,” said Kostunica and asked if a dignified Serbia should join such a community at all.
