Sergej Trifunovic is playing in the famous Leo Tolstoy’s play whose works he has begun reading only recently.

- One of the topics that the play is dealing with is how social circumstances influence an individual’s intimacy and life – Jug Radivojevic, the director of the ‘Anna Karenina’ says. The rehearsals are taking place at the Madlenianum Theatre.

At yesterday’s press conference the director and actors pointed out the outstanding dramatization of Armin Petras.

- The famous Tolstoy’s novel has been given through seven characters in an open structure for which we could say to be close to Brecht – the director says. This has been the 100th play that he is directed.

The premiere is scheduled for April 26. The role of Anna shall be played by Nina Jankovic, Vronsky will be Viktor Savic and Karenin Sergej Trifunovic.

- The play deals will love – what happens to love in a long marriage, under pressure of social context, when obstructed by other people... Can it survive? – Sergej Trifunovic says. In recent ten years this has been only his second role in a theatre. The first one was a role in the musical ‘Hair’ at the Atelje 212.

- Theatre is my love. When you love something very much you have to know to distance yourself. I have been waiting for a real play to appear on scene again and I wanted some classic play – Trifunovic said.

Scenography shall be by Aleksandar Denic. According to reputable world theatre names and magazines he is one of the five best scenographers in Europe. According to his words the scenography shall be in the spirit of...
