Kostunica: Serbia subjected to aggressive propaganda

BELGRADE - Leader of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Vojislav Kostunica said on Saturday that Serbia's moral and traditional values are at risk, and that the country is being subjected to aggressive propaganda aimed at historical revisionism and change in the historical conscience.

While touring Kosancicev Venac, an old, urban neighborhood of Belgrade, as part of the election campaign, Kostunica noted that traditional values are in jeopardy due to a rise in consumerism.

Serbia is being subjected to the aggressive campaign aimed at historical revisionism and change in the mindset in the years marking the centenary of the great liberation wars - the Balkan Wars and World War I, the DSS leader noted.

"The orders to change the historical conscience of the Serbian people are coming from abroad, and they have their enforcers in a part of the political and cultural elite in Serbia," Kostunica underlined, adding that the DSS calls for defense of the national and cultural identity.

He urged Serbian citizens to put up resistance to "the impact of globalization and the EU on the national conscience, past and memory".
