Stefanovic: Magnificent victory for SNS

BELGRADE - According to estimates of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), the party has won 49.3 per cent of votes in the snap parliamentary elections on Sunday, which is a “magnificent result“, said SNS Vice President Nebojsa Stefanovic.

This is the most convincing victory that a party has won since 1990 and the re-introduction of a multiparty democratic system in Serbia, noted Stefanovic.

Based on a sample of 62 per cent of processed ballots, the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) is second with 13.9 per cent, followed by the Democratic Party (DS) with 5.3 and the New Democratic Party (NDS) with 6.1 per cent of votes, Stefanovic told reporters at the SNS headquarters.
