Chepurin: All legal in Crimea

BELGRADE - Russian Ambassador in Serbia Alexander Chepurin said that the voting in Crimea was very well organized and stressed that everything was done in accordance with the international law.

The voting was very well organized, a vast majority of the population took part in the referendum and, according to exit polls, a majority has given an affirmative answer to the referendum question, Chepurin told Tanjug late on Sunday.

As he added, everything is in line with the law and the international law.

We will wait for the final results, the Russian ambassador said, adding that everything must be legal and in line with the international law, and that is how it is done.

The preliminary results based on 50 pct of processed ballots indicate that as many as 95.5 pct of voters in the Crimean referendum voted in favor of joining Russia, announced Mikhail Malyshev, head of referendum commission of the Crimean Supreme Council.
