Concert to mark centenary of Mokranjac's death

BELGRADE - The Belgrade-based choir Kir Stefan Srbin will on Wednesday, March 19, perform a concert at the National Theatre in Belgrade to mark the centenary of the death of Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac, the greatest Serbian composer, the National Theatre announced.

Taking part in the event, titled Mokranjac - A Hundred Years On, will be conductor Milan Milijanovic, sculptor Milan Klickovic and soloists of the Belgrade and Novi Sad operas, the choir of the RTS and leading singers in the clergy of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The Kir Stefan Srbin Choir excels in performances of religious and secular music, the National Theatre said.

Its founder Milijanovic, who has been conducting the choir for over thirty years, is also a veteran singing pedagogue and a conductor at the St. Sava School of Theology.
