Davenport: Very good and encouraging news

BELGRADE - Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport said Tuesday that the arrest of drug lord Darko Saric is very good and encouraging news and a major step forward in the effective fight against organized crime.

I think this is potentially a major breakthrough in the effective fight against organized crime, Davenport said for Belgrade-based B92 TV, adding that it is also a sign that the Serbian government is very serious about tackling these problems and challenges.

Drug lord Darko Saric was arrested in a joint operation by state bodies of Serbia and Montenegro this morning.
